2. The Internet has slowed the launch of new businesses

Most arguments would obviously tend to express the opposite view. But when you start a new business the pressure to have a strong website as an integral part of this is enormous....but have you tried finding a web designer, producer and host etc willing and able to produce what you need in the timescale you need when there is nothing there to start with?
